My parcel (a pair of printed leggings from Etsy) has been stuck at LANGLEY HWDC since 11 January. I am supposed to give it as a gift on 26 January at a birthday party. I ordered it 4 January and I got a notification that it shipped 8 January. I have never had an issue with Etsy before. What happened to my parcel? Why aren't I being alerted that the gift I ordered isn't going to be delivered?

I'm posting this for people who are searching for answers - I just had a parcel stuck at HWDC Langley since 28th November and only just received it on 22nd January. It means customs held it for nearly 8 weeks. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do and you just have to be patient. Royal Mail cannot help you once it's gone into the Customs blackhole and you cannot contact Customs.

If your parcel has taken more than 5 weeks* from sending to arriving then the sender can claim back the cost of postage from the local postal service. And if you are hitting postal services in the pocket then they are more likely to complain to HMRC.
If you are the receiver, you can complain to your MP.
*This may vary from country to country and service to service.

Usual delivery time is 1 week end to end, but there is nobody you can speak to as it is stuck in customs.707kai wrote:Its more than 30 days now. Whats the usual delivery time and whom to speak to deliver it quickly.
You should claim the money back from the retailer and, if that fails, ask your credit card provider for a chargeback.

Anybody got their parcels that were held at Langley? I just did a quick track on the parcels in this thread and all of them still seem to be stuck in there. It is unbelievable.
My parcel ended up at Langley too. Hence the question..

I ordered a Lenovo mobile phone from China mid January. It arrived at Langley on 2nd of February. It is now 3rd of March. I contacted royal mail with my tracking number and explained my concerns. They replied by telling me to contact the seller and instruct them to contact the Postal service they used and instruct them to investigate the matter. Ridiculous. The seller and their postal service fulfilled their services, obviously. So if RM have my item, why is there any need to contact the seller? Needless to say, I have sent RM a complaint and am waiting for a reply. It's been 5 week. What kind of service is this? It's a complete shambles.

Any tracking number? My gut feeling is that there would have been a customs charge, did you get a grey card in the post?Brettc73 wrote:I ordered a Lenovo mobile phone from China mid January. Hi, I have got a parcel (Mobile) received at LANGLEY HWDC by the 25th Feb, has been there for a week, no moves, not news, no grey paper received and the reception of my company. Is there any way to contact or retrieve information? Thanks.

No, Langley is UK customs, a law enforcement agency, they don't talk to the public.angelprado wrote:Hi, I have got a parcel (Mobile) received at LANGLEY HWDC by the 25th Feb, has been there for a week, no moves, not news, no grey paper received and the reception of my company. You haven't posted the tracking or tracking number, so it is very hard for us to give you a proper answer. But if you mean that the item has been at Langley for the last 4 weeks then it is stuck in customs, and Royal Mail are yet to receive it. We can confirm this if you supply the requested information.Brettc73 wrote:I ordered a Lenovo mobile phone from China mid January. It arrived at Langley on 2nd of February. It is now 3rd of March. Ordering a mobile phone from China is fraught with difficulties, I would never recommend this due to the high chance of the goods being impounded and / or you being scammed by dodgy sellers.

Thanks for your reply Snaggletooh, so according to the tracking "RB700836852SG" this item will not be delivered? should I receive and extra tax payment / grey card? Has anybody experience in those cases? Does Langley return the parcel to China so I can claim my money back?Snaggletooth wrote:No, Langley is UK customs, a law enforcement agency, they don't talk to the public.angelprado wrote:Hi, I have got a parcel (Mobile) received at LANGLEY HWDC by the 25th Feb, has been there for a week, no moves, not news, no grey paper received and the reception of my company. You might receive a grey card asking for VAT, you may not.angelprado wrote:Thanks for your reply Snaggletooh, so according to the tracking "RB700836852SG" this item will not be delivered? should I receive and extra tax payment / grey card? However 25 Feb is only just over a week ago so it is probably still in Customs, some posters on this forum have received items as late as 3 or 4 weeks after Customs intercepted it.

Thanks for your reply, I think you are right, If anyone in the same sit reads this I have read all the reviews from UK aliexpress buyers and say that goods took around a month (more than the 5-7 days expected) and most of them received an extra fee (VAT) of 15£ but you will get the parcel in the end, which is the real important. Cheers the one's replying!TrueBlueTerrier wrote:You might receive a grey card asking for VAT, you may not.

I haven't received any grey card in the post and haven't had any real explanation about the situation. My tracking number is RF703509295SG.
I am completely mystified as to why it hasn't been delivered even though they know where it is. Any help would be very much appreciated.
