I posted a a padded envelope at a post office in Edinburgh first class to Glasgow on Friday morning, meaning it should’ve arrived Saturday. However it’s now Wednesday night and still not arrived with the recipient. The lady at the desk gave me a receipt for the cost of postage and proof of postage.
I didn’t leave a return address on the envelope, however if it’s undeliverable for some reason can the package be traced back to me from the stamp or something similar ?
Is the package most likely lost? As Iv tripled checked the address with the recipient and it’s the same as on the proof of postage.

No, first class is not a guaranteed service, so has no maximum time. It might still get there. Also, as it is a packet, it might not fit through the letter box: sometimes, posties forget to leave a red card, or it gets lost in the recipients other mail. The recipient should check with the local delivery office, is possible.Needinghelp34 wrote:I posted a a padded envelope at a post office in Edinburgh first class to Glasgow on Friday morning, meaning it should’ve arrived Saturday.
No. If it still hasn't arrived 3 weeks after posting (i.e. Sat 16th March) complete a P58inland claim form. This will allow the National Returns Centre to get the contents back to you.Needinghelp34 wrote:I didn’t leave a return address on the envelope, however if it’s undeliverable for some reason can the package be traced back to me from the stamp or something similar ?
