Hello, im new at the forum. First of all thank you so much for all your help. I have searched for the answer of my question but i couldnt find.

I have a parcel from the UK coming to Turkey. I usually get my packages within a week from the UK. In my country's postal service tracking, i see a message as "edi-received" and the next day after that message, it arrives to my country's customs.

But with this package it didnt happen like that. After i got the message of item leaving the UK from Langley HWDC, i got another one from the same package leaving London AMU... since then, no movement.

Sunday 16 December03:24am

Item Leaving the UK
LANGLEY HWDC

My question is that why it left the country from two different places? My item has never lated like that before, could it be about that? Im a little worried if it will be stuck like that and never arrive.

Thank you so much for your time and help.

When its Christmas sometimes Royal Mail open overflow warehouses, its possible that the AMU is being used as an overflow for HWDC. AMU is I think the Air Movement Unit.

Hey, I'm in the same cell in purgatory - London AMU! My parcel, a small, inexpensive piece of electronic gear (a MIDI to USB converter) clocked into London AMU on 31 January, also by way of Langley HWDC, and has been "leaving the UK" (en route to Israel) ever since. Who knew that leaving the UK was such a time-consuming affair? Israel Post still shows nothing about my tracking number. Is there any way to get some answers? :arrrghhh Three weeks--things come faster from China, and shipping costs 1/10!

The problem here is not Royal Mail, it is that the sender should not have sent it in the first place. This is because it is on the list of things that Israel ban from the mail. See:

https://www.royalmail.com/israel" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

then choose ‘prohibitions’. The relevant text is towards the end of the list.

Thank you, Snaggletooth, for pointing that list out to me. However, I'm not convinced that it is actually banned. I assume you are referring to the item, "Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers; television image and sound recorders and reproducers and parts and accessories of such articles" - but this item is not really any of those things. It is a musical instrument accessory, and I have had similar devices delivered to me in Israel from abroad numerous times without a problem--and clearly with the awareness of the customs establishment, which on a few occasions required me to pay additional duties in order to have the items released. However, I will make the vindor aware of this.

Okay, it will probably get through eventually then. But we have seen before that items which look like they are prohibited are often held over for a while, seemingly for additional checks. Watches are the classic example. Watch batteries are prohibited in lots of places, but numerous threads on this board suggest that *all* watches are taken aside for lengthy examination if they are going somewhere that bans lithium batteries, regardless of the watch's power source.

Without a tracking number, and perhaps even with its difficult to say with any certainty, However, the USA is very strict with regard to Customs and Homeland security, and with Books being partially on the Prohibited List for the USA, it may just be being held up to make it complies with the rules.

I've ordered a package from the Arctic Monkeys website and it has been stuck there for a month.
I contacted Royal Mail a week ago and they still haven't answered.
I've canceled the last package I've ordered from them because of the same reason. Stuck at shipping.
I really do not get you RM, how can a small 500g package get stuck at the AMU for a month TWICE?!
FYI, It's shipped to Israel

Which International service did they use? Not all get tracked within the destination country so it could well be stuck in customs in Israel. Are the contents anything that wouldn't be allowed in Israel? Anything like lithium batteries in it which can cause problems?

Colombia bans batteries in the mail. You can send them within the UK under a set of restrictions, but Colombia bans them outright. Royal Mail have probably noticed the banned contents and are holding it while they decide what to do with it.

If it's a lithium battery, how's it packaged within the parcel?
