Hello everyone,
A friend sent me an item with Royal Mail International Tracked on 11th of Jan and it has yet to leave the Cardiff Mail centre, even though it has been 2 weeks already. I'm located in Bulgaria and estimated time for delivery is 3-5 working days. Tracking shows:
Your item is due to leave Cardiff Mail Centre to go to Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre. More information will be available as it travels through our network.

Additionally, when trying to track the item with GLS, it says that it has not reached them yet.
I emailed RM and GLS already but I thought I'd post a note here to see if you guys could give me more info out of your experience with Royal Mail. I've previously used RM 1st class and they've all arrived within 2 weeks. Now I think that my item's just lost, but ofc I can't submit a complain because I have to wait 20 working days to pass.

Lost Item?
Update: Royal Mail has replied to my many emails saying that the item is probably moving but might have been marked untracked in error which is why no updates are coming in the tracking system (I'd rather that than it's completely lost). My question is, when an item is sent from UK to Europe, can it still be picked at Customs to be "checked" just like incoming mail? It'd only make sense hence the 2 weeks and counting I'm waiting for GLS to receive it.

Any item can be picked at customs at any country. They won't just be checking for tax or customs charges, they'll also be checking for stuff that's not allowed to enter their country

An update, in case anyone else is having the same issues. After 32 days of no tracking info, I finally got "Item received at Royal Mail" and then "Item leaving UK" so I guess it's coming.
