Blimey, today for the first time I had to input international tariff code information for Click & Drop, it was nigh on impossible to find the correct tariff codes for the items I was sending. I am sure others might have experienced it too.
Not only that but today while at the Post Office I was informed that their counter customers are not being asked to do this. I am so confused, why are Click & Drop customers being asked for these codes while domestic counter customers parcels don't have to provide the same details of what they are sending.
Surely if it is something that mandatory for some international destinations from January 1st 2019 then it's mandatory?

Click & Drop Tariff Codes Nightmare!!!
Are you referring to this:
https://www.royalmail.com/business/serv ... onal-data/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don’t know about these codes specifically, but there has long been a different approach to “business customers” sending mail in the PO. “Business customers” are those using PPI, Click & Drop, etc. For instance, every single member of the public should be asked about the contents of their parcel, but business customers are not, because the latter have confirmed that they know about the Dangerous Goods act and foreign customs regulations when they signed up for their service. I expect that the tariff code issue is an extension of that.

Click & Drop Tariff Codes Nightmare!!!
Yep, I am aware of Dangerous Goods etc, the chap I spoke to today at RM international team seemed to be under the impression that the data should also start being collected over the counter for private customers to. That should be a laugh as it takes ages to classify what is in a package as it is all down to what materials it is made from.
