Dog bite

Post by Cjw1984 »

Hi, partner opened door for postman with dog (jack russell) shut in other room. He got out and nipped and barked at postman before getting him back in house. Postman said it had to be reported and showed leg with no visible mark at the time. What is likely to happen action Royal Mail would take. There have been no other instances like that his and he is usually shut away when answering door.

Not sure but hopefully a police visit and postage being stopped, realistically probably not alot, depends if postman is scared to want to visit your property

Dog bite

Just after Xmas 1 of my colleagues got bit with actual bite marks etc and from what I know the owner had a visit from the police but no mail was stopped as I delivered (quite cautiously I hasten to add lol) a couple of days later to that address and I haven't heard of any other update from that incident. But I do know that it is the owners responsibility to keep animals under control, and saying that yesterday when I delivered to a person he had 3 very different dogs and they were very pleasant and friendly.

how did dog get out when shut in other room? sounds like you little worried that dog was not under control...…. me personally I would not go anywhere near your house and you collect your own mail.
