Issues in Plymouth?

Post by Faileddelivery »

Hi All,

I am awaiting a Parcel that was sent from Plymouth to the Midlands on 9am on Monday. It was sent using RMSD but has still not arrived. Firstly RM customer service said on the phone that It most likely lost or stolen. However the Plymouth sorting office have said there is over 300 RMSD parcels that still haven't been looked at but they cant give any ETA? What am I meant to do in this situation??

Both cases are possible, but I would think that as its Christmas its probably caught up in a backlog somewhere, although with Special Deliveries this should not happen.

You should alert the sender as they WILL be able to claim back the postage, and if it has been lost and they have paid for the correct level of insurance they will be able to claim compensation.

If there are delays in Portsmouth I haven't heard, but any colleague not willing to confirm or deny this in person please PM me and I'll update this thread.

The service page initially said a flight from Exeter to Midlands was cancelled Monday night due to fog however the fact that it hasn't updated at all is worrying

It won't have updated because to do so we'd have to take each item out of its container and manually scan it then put it back in. Expect an "Arrived at XX Mail Centre" somewhere between 10pm and 6am

Hoping it comes tomorrow, not that hopeful if the 300 parcel story is true though

As it missed the 1C dispatch, it should have gone out on the 2C dispatch which would have been the next available dispatch

Would this mean its more than likely lost rather than stuck ? :(

I don't know if it would go by plane, if it does it's possible that the plane has reach full capacity early on

Yeah im hoping it updates later on.

The seller went to the Plymouth mail office today and they were the ones that told him Mondays Deliveries were much higher than expected which left over 300 RMSD that hadnt been checked yet.

I know the seller is honest so he wouldnt have any reason to make it up. Just i expected it to arrive today 24 hours after so was alarmed when tracking didnt update.

First time i have had issue :(

It still isn't moving.

As the buyer, you need to claim from the seller for late delivery. It isn't your job to chase the seller's sub-contractor.

I'm wondering if the Track and Trace is playing up as it wouldn't normally say "Royal Mail Site" as a location

Yeah maybe, wouldn't it automatically update when it was scanned at a local depot?

I think this is lost now as even if it was delayed I'm sure it would have arrived 24 hours after. Id say it's lost or stolen due to it being a valuable item

No movement on Tracking at all. RM Twitter said they are not aware of any issues at Plymouth.
