Excess door to door

We have recently had a manager sacked for doing the things mentioned above to d2ds. We had a major complaint which meant some bigwigs in suits came to our office.

Trust me, royal mail care.

Each week you should have a print out of what d2ds are contracted for your round. You are then required to sign this sheet, marking daily which streets you have completed, and writing a note of any excess d2ds you have and the reasons for this.

If royal mail lose a contract (these are worth millions of pounds) then you will lose your job if it is found that it's down to you. No made up scaremongering, I've seen it.

Take care of yourselves, always make sure you do them. It's not worth losing your job over a dominos leaflet.

If your office is like ours was, put in a complaint. It needs sorting before we lose contracts. I know d2ds are considered a bit of a joke, but without them would come major redundancies.

afaik if any DO sends excess back to us, we have to send it back to them. I don't think any returns get accepted anymore

I'm considering reporting these dominos leaflets as a health and safety issue as the paper they're printed on is dangerously thin and cause loads of paper cuts to my hands every time we get the bl***y things...! :cry

Spare D2D have to be handed to your DOM who counts them all up and sends that data back to RM. RM are currently really cracking down on us where there are a lot being returned as the amounts sent out are meant to tally with the delivery points so there should be little or no excess.

Each delivery should have a control sheet which the O.P.G signs on a daily basis confirming delivery. At the bottom of the sheet the door to door items are listed and there is a box asking for reason of none delivery. Simply count the excess items i.e 4 and list them in the appropriate box. Then hand them over to the manager.

I didn't realise there was a space on the sheet to mark excess D2Ds. We have recently handed in notes to our DOM about addresses where we cannot deliver D2D items such as HS2 owned properties where the letterboxes have been blocked off with metal plates & screws.
