Signed For Parcel Missing In Action

Hi there, just wondering if any one can help with this. I sent a parcel Signed For 1st class to a hotel where my friend was staying, as they had not yet arrived, the hotel did not accept delivery. I've waited two weeks and just called RM - they say it arrived at Jubilee Mail Centre on 6th Nov and may have gone to Belfast?? It had my first line address and post code on the package - so why can't it just come back to me? And even if gone to Belfast, why does it take so long - with no information? Is there anything I can do or make contact anywhere or do I just have to wait until I can claim compensation - which is just crazy when it is clearly still with RM

Sounds like a problem with the contents. What is inside the package?

and was the destination address and your own both within the UK?

Thanks both for replies: it is only a T shirt for a gift and both addresses in the UK - the recipient was supposed to be staying in a London hotel and his meeting was cancelled so he had to reschedule - even tho I rang hotel and I explained - they said they would hold it til the following week but they didn't and hence not accepting delivery as he wasn't a resident on the day of package arrival. I guess seen as potential security issue - but still no further forward, tracking info said not accepted at delivery address and it was then returned to Jubilee
