Redelivery attempt

Post by Vanillabean »

Hi,

I am staying in an air B and B for the next few weeks. I left something I needed at home (Ireland) so I got a friend to send it to me. However what I didn’t realise at the time is that the address I’m staying at has no postbox (but all the flats inside have individual letter boxes on their doors). Tracking shows that Royal Mail attempted to deliver the package today but the property was inaccessible.

They didn’t leave a missed delivery card and it says in the tracking they will attempt redelivery on the next working day. I tried to change the redelivery online and it gives me the option of sending it to the nearest post office.

My question is can I arrange redelivery to the local post office instead and collect my parcel without a missed delivery card? I have identification but no proof of address. Do I need a missed delivery card to collect the item? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m not familiar with the Royal Mail at all. Thanks in advance.

You can ask for your parcel to be delivered at a post office, you need just your ID and perhaps the text you will receive from RM on your phone.
It`s called local collect, ask for that at the post office.

I received no text and have no missed delivery card. How can I get my item?
