Hi all.
I've ordered an item via Ali Express about a month ago.
It is now still in Tracking and it's with Royal mail.
During this time however there have been some problems in the home i currently live so i will move from here in about a week.
The new address is very close to this current address i have, a matter of minutes of walking time.
There is a high chance that the item won't be delivered until i move from here.
However, for security reasons i DON'T want my parcel to be delivered at my old address and in the hands of the main tenant. Is there any way i:
1) have it delivered directly to the nearest post office?
Or
2) change my delivery address, maybe talk to the driver or customer support?
Or
3) be sure that proof of MY ID will be MANDATORY and without it the postman won't give the parcel to the current occupant?
It's a valuable item i bought for hundreds of pounds...i waited for over a month for it.
Please anyone if they can help me i would really appreciate.
I tried calling customer support but i keep getting stuck on IVR and the call is disconnected.
Thank you!

You cannot change the destination of an individual parcel while in transit. It is against the law, and even if it wasn't, it would be very difficult to achieve. What you can do is set up a redirection that sends all of your mail to your new address - which sounds ideal in your situation. There is a charge for this and, while you can apply online, you may have to take physical ID documents to a Post Office to set it up. I would be concerned about a parcel taking a month to arrive though, even if it is coming from China. It shouldn't take that long.

It could take that long if it's stuck in customsSnaggletooth wrote:I would be concerned about a parcel taking a month to arrive though, even if it is coming from China. It shouldn't take that long.

I've had stuff take that long in the past. Maybe it's come into the UK on one barcode to a warehouse, who then forward it via Royal Mail on a new tracking numberSnaggletooth wrote:Yes, but even then it is pushing it a bit.SpacePhoenix wrote:It could take that long if it's stuck in customsSnaggletooth wrote:I would be concerned about a parcel taking a month to arrive though, even if it is coming from China.
