Hey, can someone suggest what should i do?
I had to recieve a parcel from a Gumtree Seller, my accommodation did not have a reception so i gave him the address of my nearest post office thinking that I’d just go and collect when it gets delivered. Turns out he chose the Royal mail signed for 2nd class service and later i heard that post offices do not recieve and hold parcels for anyone for collection. It was sent on the morning of 3rd October and the status when checked with the reference numbers still reads as “we’ve got it” after nearly 6 days. I’m afriad as to where could it possibly go, the sender is saying he did not put his return address so thats an issue as well.
This is all because the post ofc could have refused to accept it. I called Royal Mail they said i should wait for atleast 10 days and wait for the status to update.
It’s bit worrying as the parcel is expensive and contains a mobile phone. Anyone suggest anything?

Post Offices are not allowed to accept mail in this way unless you make a Post Restante arrangement in advance.
Valuable mail should not be sent by Signed For.
I would call RM Customer Services for advice.

you have a contract with the seller, not RM, if the seller doesnt get the item to you, its their responsibility to offer refund or send the same item again.
