Sending a Parcel from UK to Malaysia but its stuck in Russia

Hello.
I'm currently concerned about my parcel whereabouts.

I posted my parcel for Malaysia on the 07/09/18 using the International Tracked and signed service.

Based from the Royal Mail info, the last tracking message was that it was "In Transit" and "Your item is now leaving the UK. More information will be available when it arrives in the destination country". This last RM message was updated on the 8/9/18.

After a week passed, I decided to check on the parcel since my friend in malaysia hasnt received any notice about her parcel. So I clicked on the "Continue Tracking", and for some reason, my parcel is in Russia right now?? And it seemed to be stuck there because the last it has updated was on the 17/09/18. As of posting this, its now the 24/09/18.

I've also been using POS Malaysia tracking website but nothing had been changed since.It only tells me that the parcel has been accepted o 07/09/18

I never had a problem with a parcel like this before and I'm worried thats it's lost as Russia is taking a while to update. Its not my first time sending something to Malaysia so im so confused why its taking so long.

Best guess is that it's stuck in Russian customs, so until Russian Customs release the item to Russian Post there's nothing that can be done. Once it has been released Russian Post will either forward it on to Malaysia or they'll return it to the UK. Looking at the Russian tracking it seems like possibly their international mail centre has sent it to a local mail centre who have then sent it back to them.

Someone has put it on the wrong plane. Unfortunately, mistakes do happen sometimes.

You need to make a claim from Royal Mail using a P58international form.

I see. How long does it usually take for Russia to finiah clearance?
