Tell him no, you'll be there at 9:45.
And that's if the lift he has arranged is on time.

It's changed, often now new starters can get variation by way of "home office" but can be classed as regional reserves also.osgoody1970 wrote:the procedure for working in other offices is... you start on your time at your office, they have to provide transport for you to get to the other office, then you have to be given enough time to travel to your own office for your finish time, with transport provided, do not let them tell you otherwise, if you are in any doubt, consult your union rep or branch!!!
I see nothing changes then.tommyrep wrote:Basic delivery bullying by so called “ managers”Maxwell1979 wrote:Got sent to a different depot today got given 11 loops to take out bymyself with no geographical knowledge of the area. 1hrs travelling time so finished an hour early with 3 loops brought back then had heated discussion with manger as to why I was finishing and stuff was brought back only been with royal mail 7 months is this the usual thing??
They really do not have a clue. The travel time bears no relevance to these idiots.
They only see a duty, that duty is covered by A.N. Other, sorted ,!
They have no skill or ability to deal with anything other than that.
Anything other than the duty being done fully results in intimidation.
They have become so used to other people digging them out of a s**t hole, they take it as a given, throw the dummy out the pram and start the slagging/bullying/intimidation game.
Unfortunately do not expect much sympathy from colleagues or the Union for that matter, YOU are leftover the dogs.
Totally wrong and unacceptable treatment to endure. Stick to your guns, only work your contracted hours and go home.
Then complete a grievance complaint against the manager. And hope you do not get sent back. These twats and their DOM pals have a habit of carrying a grudge, cover yourself at all costs.
Yes it's changed but what has not changed is the start at your own office and finish at your own parent office. The problem is that most posties would probably not even bother with these regulations if the screws treated them fair and with a bit of respect. They would get more out of posties but there that stupid and ignorant that they just f**k everything up. Send them to any other parcel/mail operator and they would last about 2 days, maybee.Destiny wrote:It's changed, often now new starters can get variation by way of "home office" but can be classed as regional reserves also.osgoody1970 wrote:the procedure for working in other offices is... you start on your time at your office, they have to provide transport for you to get to the other office, then you have to be given enough time to travel to your own office for your finish time, with transport provided, do not let them tell you otherwise, if you are in any doubt, consult your union rep or branch!!!
They are contracted to travel within a geographical area themselves.
Check you contract first op.

Thanks for clearing up that point, I thought that was the procedure but did not want to ill advise.osgoody1970 wrote:the procedure for working in other offices is... you start on your time at your office, they have to provide transport for you to get to the other office, then you have to be given enough time to travel to your own office for your finish time, with transport provided, do not let them tell you otherwise, if you are in any doubt, consult your union rep or branch!!!
Don’t take it personally, they will try and push their luck with newbies.Maxwell1979 wrote:It's no wonder so many quit they treat us new ones like dirt maybe not the job for me
Thanks for letting me know clashcityrocker. I knew that the new starts could be sent to any office but I thought that they would still need to report at their NORMAL office. This policy is just taking the piss. It's the same as TH advertised a posties job just yesterday for a 30hr contract but the hours were 7 to 9, then home then back in from 1500 to 1900. This is a split shift, although their is a payment you get for it, on the job advert it didn't say anything about it, surprise surprise.....clashcityrocker wrote:No.Navalron wrote: Yes it's changed but what has not changed is the start at your own office and finish at your own parent office.
They are area reserves with a contract to work at any office in the area.
The contract is different. Just as some of them have Sunday in their contract now.
The original poster needs to check his contract first.
agree given the T&C probably now built into contracts, i'd never heard of not having a "home" but if true their car insurance definitely needs checking if any office is construed as their place of workclashcityrocker wrote:No.Navalron wrote: Yes it's changed but what has not changed is the start at your own office and finish at your own parent office.
