USPS / Royal Mail item still in Heathrow!

Hello, I'm waiting for a parcel coming from the US with a USPS tracking number, starting with LX ending with US. The last tracking info from USPS is:
"Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on July 31, 2018 at 7:19 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

From info from this forum, it appears that it's gone to customs. Correct?

When I enter this into Royal Mail tracking it states:
"This item is now leaving the originating country. More information will be available when it arrives in the UK.
From:
United States of America
Updated on: Monday 30 July
03:59am"

So it appears Royal Mail's tracking is a bit behind.
1. The item I purchased is a lightweight backpack. It's about $80-$85 - and with shipping it was $115. I'm assuming I'm going to get a customs charge on this:
2. Is there a possibility some pieces of tracking are just not available and somehow this item is waiting for me at home??
3. Can items get cleared over the weekend?

The destination for the item is London. So close yet so far.

It's probably stuck in customs. They randomly pick containers for closer inspection, if your item is in one of them containers then it'll take longer to clear customs

Maybe - ugh my optimistic self thought maybe it might show up at my door but that didn’t happen.

Could customs processing perhaps take place over the weekend or does this stop?

It appears there was some progress made. It now states:
Your item is due to leave Greenford Mail Centre to go to Kilburn DO.

Which tells me possibly tomorrow??

When I track it, it states that someone tried to deliver but no one was in. I was in, but I also haven’t received the fee to pay card which I need to pick up the item. Anyway I can do this without the card, if I have ID and tracking info?

Without a tracking number its impossible to say, but my guess is that they have scanned it into the Office and will be sending out a grey card today or tomorrow.

If you do post the tracking number we can't see any personal information only what you can see, but we can sometimes decipher the messages better because of working inside the system.

Thanks for your reply. I actually went to the DO on the day and picked it up. The individual was understanding and let me pay for the duty and I got my parcel. But thank you!
