My understanding is that whilst you are still technically allowed to take 20 mins of MR at end of duty, i.e. sign out 20 mins before contracted finishing time, returning to the office and thus entering the geofence will flag this up as a potential saving for the unit, whether it be you meal relief or not. Added up it will show a potential x amount of hours saving per week per unit. Of course, you can argue the case thereafter when they come to take hours from office, but by then it will possibly be too late. So my advice would be to use all MR either prior to going out on delivery, whilst still within the geofence or split it with 20 mins prior to going out and 20 mins whilst out on delivery/ outwith the geofence on that basis.

Where do you take your break if you have hct? Also it’s not practical to take breaks in van, as either too hot or too cold plus too close to your partner, surely if we have to take break your employer have to provide a toilet and somewhere to actually sit down in comfortthemaze wrote:What about taking the full 40 mins out on delivery ?steve1873 wrote:My understanding is that whilst you are still technically allowed to take 20 mins of MR at end of duty, i.e. sign out 20 mins before contracted finishing time, returning to the office and thus entering the geofence will flag this up as a potential saving for the unit, whether it be you meal relief or not. I agree should we form a UNION that agrees with us ?matthew68 wrote:Where do you take your break if you have hct? you drive back to the office and once you have secured your van /hct you go into building and start your 40 minute break then, after the full 40 minute break get back into van and resume delivery.matthew68 wrote:Where do you take your break if you have hct? So a rural delivery driver can have his or her full 40 minute break out on the round? Yes?

To even be told that is sad or a wind up. If true then whoever spent millions developing the pda should be fired it they didn't know that the majority of staff are entitled to 40 mins m/r. But they would or will be promoted up the ladder to earn more money causing chaos along the way.themaze wrote:I think it's got something to do with the pda actuals , we should be taking 20 minutes before you leave as the PDA`s dont count the 40 minutes outdoors apparently.

By the time i'm ready for break I am at my furthest point from the DO, so I walk 15 minutes back in the heat, to then walk back to the same point 15 in the heat, pushing a trolley both times? Your having a bloody laugh. Not all rounds are that bloody simple.Phantom wrote:Then you go back to the office, all our HCT's do.Chris413 wrote:All this meal relief stuff is bullcrap.
