wrong person recorded delivery.

My nephew ordered tickets from ticket master. He got an e mail saying that the tickets had been sent first class via recorded delivery. He has been ordering tickets through Ticketmaster for YEARS. This has been without any trouble. A week after the e mail. He contacted Ticketmaster and they confirmed that the tickets had been sent. He then contacted royal mail who told him the tickets had been delivered and where signed for. Not only that he bought an item off amazon and it too was
said to have been delivered and signed for. The fake signature on the pad on both occasions looks nothing like my nephew's signature. A post office manager confirmed to my nephew they have a long record of his signature from previous deliverers. The manager agreed that it looks nothing like my nephew's signature. The postman who normally delivers to my nephew is on another route and it is a new post man. The manager joined the postman on his route and the new postman could not remember which door he delivered the items. I have a question I hope someone can answer. The post office told my nephew to contact ticketmaster and get replacement sent out. He did his and ticketmaster told him due to the fact that someone signed his name they could not replace these tickets. The post office say it is not their fault and have washed their hands of the matter. Now I would have thought that the post office got paid and entered into a contact to deliever these to the right person. Who is responsible? As I think my nephew should not have to pay for someones mistake.

P.S. I think the post man is on the rob. I hope the post office has measures in place to find these bad apples.

Firstly, all of this should be in a the customer forum, not this one.

Secondly, this is a problem with Royal Mail, not the Post Office.

Thirdly, your nephew has a contract with Ticketmaster for delivery of the tickets. If there is a failure of a third party supplier, in this case Royal Mail, then it is up to Ticketmaster to sort it out. If Ticketmaster fail to sort it then take it up with the credit card supplier used to make payment (slightly harder if it wasn’t a credit card).

Lastly, I have personally had problems with Ticketmaster inserting parts of an old address into my current one, and I have heard of other people having the same issue. This could result in the tickets being sent to the wrong address. Get your nephew to check his sales receipt, it might actually be Ticketmaster’s fault.

P.s i think the postman on the rob. What a statement to come away with. There are bad Apple's as there are in every walk of life. How can be remember what is probably at least 900 houses that he delivered one of many specials. I used to find that most of the ROBBING actually came from within the affected household, is older/younger siblings, mates ect signing for stuff. :thumbup

Typical that you come up with the one thing that is almost guaranteed not to be so.

Mistakes happen but a postman would not steal something he was meant to be delivering.

As mentioned, I have also seen many problems with addresses printed by Ticketmaster.

The manager is telling porkies, or it wasn't a manager but a coach that you spoke to.

I say this for one reason, it's also the reason why it is unlikely that the Postie "Robbed" it. Every scan we make has a GPS tag to it so the manager does not need to go out with the postie all they have to do is check the particular scan.

He stays by himself and got a card saying the item had to be picked up. He contacted them and arranged for the item (U2 tickets) to be redelivered on Saturday morning when he would be at home. He stayed in all morning and the postman didn't ring or chap. He has order 100's of tickets and never had a problem. The girl who normally delivers is on holiday. In the time she has been on holiday and the cover has taken over her run. Two items have failed to have been delivered to him. This has never happened before. The signature is the same on both occasions. It only has his 2nd name on the pad. So you tell me what else I am supposed to think. New postman and stuff goes missing!? The postmn is on the rob or he cant be bothered climbing up four floors.

What safeguards are in place to stop the postman stealing tickets and an usb cable and passing it off as a fake person signing for it?

I should also say the replacement postie is usually office based. He is doing a round as overtime.

I understand you posties rushing to defend a fellow postie. I wonder why no ones answers the greater question? if you don't know just say so.

Or he has made a simple mistake, due to not being familiar with the duty. He could be an idiot, making foolish mistakes, maybe he should be reprimanded, but I'd bet my house that he is honest.

If it's happened twice with the same signature, he could being going to an address that is similar to yours, or for some reason he thinks he is at your address when he is at a different address. The person who lives there could be stupid or dishonest, signing for things that aren't his.

Or there could be any number of reasons, we need to wait to find out instead of jumping to conclusions.

Why no use of PDA actuals to sort out this kind of thing? F it was a comlaint that the postie hadn't attempted delivery to a neighbour they screws would be all over this s**t.
