Where art' thou parcels?

Post by Russell20 »

Hello Everyone - I imagine this forum gets a lot of (annoying) questions like this, and I understand that you can't give me any more information then what the tracking gives but I really don't know where else to post this enquiry.

So - two of my parcels (an antique dress and a pair of boots sent by separate sellers from the USA, via USPS- nothing illegal and no drugs/medication!) have both been stuck in Heathrow customs (I presume) for 3 weeks with no update.

All the tracking says is; 'Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW'

Nothing else. I'm guessing the parcels are in customs - but surely the tracking would update to that? And why both parcels - they were both sent by reputable sellers on Etsy so I doubt the parcels are in shambles/or look suspicious :/

The Parcels are both due to be delivered by Royal Mail - but when entering the tracking number I'm told that I'll 'get more information once the parcels enter the country' - I'm at a loss! I would understand if this was a busy period for customs e.g. December for Christmas - and if the parcels contained specialist drugs/medication requiring paperwork...

Any ideas? Should I contact customs? Should I visit my local Royal Mail distribution centre (in case they are there - or require customs payment)?

Thank you for your time! :D
Sorry if I come across as whiny - or impatient! (and I hope I'm posting this in the right place)

P.S Hope ya' liked the cringy title! :P

From what I've read on here, 3 weeks in customs isn't unheard of.

Tracking says what it does as as far as Royal Mail is concerned, if it's in customs, it hasn't entered the country yet.
