Hi I sent some very important legal documents to Canada by international tracked service on June 5th. Online it says departed the UK on June 8th. But ever since I only get this message: Your item is now leaving the UK. More information will be available when it arrives in the destination country.
Well I needed those documents to arrive by now. This is a really serious court matter and I don't know what to do or when they are ever going to show up! Can anyone help??

International tracked to Canada delayed help!
It is probably stuck in Canadian customs. It will not show up on the tracking again until it has cleared customs (or possibly until it is delivered: can a Royal Mail colleague advise on this please?)
There are a couple of things which can cause delays:
Not putting a return address on the outside of the envelope. Canadian customs routinely reject items for this reason.
Sending cash.
Sending passports.
Do any of the above sound like your item?

afaik the return address has to be on the front of the item otherwise Canadian Customs will probably reject it. Read somewhere once that Canadian customs photograph every item entering Canada. It should afaik be tracked within Canada but there's nothing ROM can do if it doesn'tSnaggletooth wrote:It is probably stuck in Canadian customs. Return address was on top left hand corner. Just legal documents, not passports or anything. How long would customs hold it up do you think?

I just got off the phone with Canada post and they said it's there but being held in customs and they don't know when it will be released. Any idea on how long it could take?

Problem is Customs of any country are a rule to themselves and Canada is particularly strict so it can slow things down a lot. Based on UK experience Customs here can hold on to things for anything from a few days up to a month.

International tracked to Canada delayed help!
So I called the customs warehouse for Canada post in vancouver. They said that it hasn't come into her system at all. she suggested double checking with who sent it on your end as it hasn't reached her. they have no interest in documents, especially when they come from GB, so there would be no reason for them to flag/hold them. It hasn't arrived to customs at all yet.She was shocked that it wasn’t there yet, and said if they didn’t have it, that means Canada post hasn’t touched it yet.According to her, it never reached them in Canada. It would have been checked it as soon as it landed. What does this mean?? Someone please advise me help!!
