Its like buses you wait an hour for one then three come at same time.
That doesn't happen any more.
The controllers either hold buses at stops or terminate them early to ensure a smoother flow.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

You should have toilet stops on your walk log,be it or to come back to the office. you should have toilet stops on your 318, you should have had toilet stops during the revision process, your rep should be on the ball with this, there are a lot of should's in this game and wankey reps and bodged revisions!
Do the walk logs actually get updated in DOs (do all walks even have a walk log)?

Yes they are meant to be updated with info such as problem dogs and house name changes etc. Certainly the computer side of this gets updated although I'm not sure on the red file walk logs on the actual frames. RM appears to want to put this and other info on the PDAs. Regarding toilet stops I think it's likely only toilets accessible by the public are listed on walk logs. I think we have two public toilets on two separate walks and one of those is 50 yards from the delivery office. No one has mentioned women posties for which it would be a real problem. We don't currently have any women posties in our office.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

I was sent to one office and the walk log was still for bikes!

I can think of at least two walks in our area that are trolley jobs involving just new housing estates. There are no shops or pubs on the route, and none on the way back and the office is a good half hour round trip from each. There are not really any bushy areas on either which are not overlooked by houses although on one you could walk across twenty yards of grass, jump a stream, fight through undergrowth into a field and then be concealed.

One of them does have a cut through to near on old people's home, which is about 5 minutes off route. But you'd have to know it was there and hope a member of staff as willing to let you in.

Other than pissing in someone's garden or in the street, the only alternative would be to knock on a door - and it's not an area where lots of people are home.

Even if in a van job, if you're not the driver and twenty minutes into a forty-minute loop you think, you need a piss, it could easily be forty minutes to find your driver, get back to the van and drive to somewhere with a toilet.

It's even more laughable when Royal Mail are telling you to stay well hydrated because it's hot . . . if you're actually staying well hydrated, you'll probably need to piss at least twice while out on delivery (if not, you're not actually staying well hydrated).

There are no toilet facilities mentioned in log books and the Union says we are still ‘kind of’ public company and have a ‘historic’ right to use toilet facilities of pubs, shops, businesses etc. Where do we stand? Is it a policy which deals with it? Can we insist on using toilets only in our DO and therefore insist on coming back every time during delivery? Are we insured when using toilets in customers houses etc? I know it is easy when you have your own duty and know where you go when you need it but for new starters it is stressful...:(
Is this real? Who are we employing, children? Surely you know when you need the loo and do what’s necessary so you don’t have an “accident”. Just go and find a toilet!!
So what do you do if you cant find a toilet anywhere.
Onece you fail to find any Doctors, hospitals, pubs, cafes, fast food restaurants or business premises then go back to the office. Certainly don’t pee yourself. If all else fails then a tree.
And face a fine for urinating in public.
The chance of being caught is ziltch. Are you telling me you would rather pee yourself than take the risk of a police officer going past at the exact same time as you’re doing it? Also you don’t do it in full view of everybody!
many postman have been done for this. so the chance of it happening isnt as low as you think

Nah , think the nappies would be too costly for RM, their more likely to go for fitting
all staff with catheters with the dodgiest character :dance in the office doing the fitting ,
staff would clean the catheter at home saving RM a fortune.... :thumbup "jobs a good un"

If there are no facilities or secluded spots on the route why not use one of those portable urinals and relieve yourself in the van? Or is there a rule against that...?

When I started I was put on a residential duty with no potential toilet stops whatsoever.

I asked my Lino what I was supposed to do and he told me to knock on someone's door. Seriously? In this day and age????

This is a real problem that RM need to address!!!

What if you don't have a van?

Or indeed a portable urinal.

I heard about a postie being sacked for knocking on a door to use a toilet so be careful. He said something inappropriate to the householder which is not on but he obviously thought it was banter. Complaint - sacked.

Tell the new guy to return to the office every day for a toilet break. They will soon sort something out, he/she is 100% safe doing so.

Still on bikes here with no walk logs so that would be an update for us.
