Dingo, I understand that the offer on the table is the best deal that the CWU could negotiate, but do you truly believe it is a good deal?
7% over 3 years will effectively leave less money in our pockets after the bills have been paid, will it not?

There seems to be endless discussion on pay and shorter working week, part timers but what about the PENSION. Is this deal a smoke screen. If I am correct the NRA has increased now to 67 (2 more years) , a scheme that isn't even agreed by parliament yet. . I think we all need more detail on the breakdown of the pension as a whole.

Correct me if I'm reading this deal wrong but doesn't it state that a reduction in hours and future pay rises are not guaranteed unless we implement trials of new ways of working and those trials being implemented which is no different to what RM previously offered last time?
Can't see anything that mentions a change of the bullying culture within DO's or a better way to sort out the over running procedure which is chaotic and a recipe for a bun fight every time you mention cutting off.

Yeah the hourly rate gets a pay rise so to speak but basic take home pay for F/T hours in delivery will be less in real terms unless inflation significantly falls by year 3.fishtank wrote:A shorter working week is not a pay rise to a full time member of staff, that's the killer.

Dare I suggest doing an hours overtime? So your effectively doing the same hours with an hours overtime in pocketDanelectro wrote:Yeah the hourly rate gets a pay rise so to speak but basic take home pay for F/T hours in delivery will be less in real terms unless inflation significantly falls by year 3.fishtank wrote:A shorter working week is not a pay rise to a full time member of staff, that's the killer.

Even the stock market had priced in a 3% pay rise, that's why the share price shot up yesterday.

not for those liek me who are pt and work alot of ot to amke ends meet.dingo wrote:The offer would have been 2.6% from April 2017 and 2% from April 2019.
The total sum for 5% over the 18 months is worth on basic pay and delivery supplement £1700.40 and
Where as the 2.6% over two years and the 2% for 2018/19 is worth £1643.72
So the 5% is better over 18 months
i lose 6 months of ot that should have been backdated from april.
all part timers lose

Two thoughts spring to mind :-shaunman wrote:The pensions are going to change every 3-5 years from now on I would imagine for the whole country not just us. My top tips areget your mortgage paid off as quick as possible, change your gas and electric every year and don’t buy cars on finance
1. Buying a car on finance can depending upon the deal be cheaper than buying the same car for cash.
2. If you really want to save money, don't bother buying a car at all!

Worrying how? If you're making 2 hours a day on a "full time" duty then yes be worried, but for everybody else it's just a case of working your hours nothing more nothing less.gary1975 wrote:The implications of data capture are quite worrying
