NO DELIVERIES

Post by GREENIE1 »

Hi, I live in a small Worcestershire Village. I felt it a bit strange yesterday that I hadn't received any post so asked the question via FB (Village Noticeboard) if anyone one else had received any or if they'd seen the postie all day. (The result was negative, no-one had had post nor spotted him throughout the day). Late last night a postie left a message on the group to advise that our usual postman was on holiday but due to staff illness there was no-one to cover the round, hence - no post. I have found out again this morning that there is still no-one to cover the round so the probability is that we will have no delivery again today - is this normal/acceptable?

Acceptable - no.

Normal - in as RM/local management now employ many posties on part time hours or have minimal reserve/holiday cover in order to save money
then come unstuck when people go sick and don't have anyone to cover the sick posties round - yes.
