Have you tried contacting your country's Customs yet? In any country afaik until Customs release an item, there is nothing that a national postal operator/company can do

Its gotten to that already?... I thought the whole idea of paying for delivery is for my parcel to get to me with ease..now i have to contact customs myself. I dont even know how to do that. Please help. How can i do that?

Depends on the country, but often customs don't take customer enquiries at all. They are a law enforcement agency, they only answer to the government, not individual citizens or the postal services.
Sometimes customs delays are caused by understaffing, new procedures or staff sickness, or sometimes they happen because of the contents of the parcel. What was inside?

Looking down the list of items which Nigeria prohibit from the mail system, ‘footwear’ appears as a banned item, as indeed does leather in a separate entry. This will be the problem.
