I haven't received any mail deliveries for the last 10 days or so (normally I receive several items a day so clear something is going wrong). I live in a block of flats in London, so not somewhere isolated.
Today I was home all day and no one from the royal mail came. Amazon delivered a package today without any trouble so it is not an issue with access to the building or anything like that.
I have tried contacting royal mail via the website and all I got was a response saying "we will get back to you in 3 days" followed 3 days later by "We told the delivery office and they may or may not get back to you in 10 days". I tried twitter too and all they did was ask me to send an e-mail which would go through the same process.
What can I do about this? How can I get them to deliver my mail? Or at least to take it seriously and find out what is going on?

What time is the trades button set to be active till? Possibly it's not the usual postman on the round so possibly arrives after the trades button deactivates for the day

It is not either of those points.
I am just trying to understand how I can get royal mail to take this seriously and look into it (starting I guess by talking to the postman).

You have started down the right path. This is the full procedure, including how to escalate the issue:
https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... l/a_id/307" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
One London delivery office I used to deal with had no manager for over 2 years: the job was repeatedly advertised but nobody wanted the it at the pay & conditions advertised. Seems to be a common issue, particularly in TfL zones 2 & 3. The posties kept things going well the vast majority of the time, but it could make it harder to get any issues resolved as it was almost impossible to get hold of the DO. There are signs of this in your answer. In which case, escalating the issue would be the best thing all round as it would put pressure on RM to fix the problem.

Thanks, this is indeed in zone 3.
The page doesn’t say how to escalate to step 2. I replied to the email and Twitter requesting escalation, is that enough?

The latest response I got is “Hi, as of 01/02 [5 days ago] the office had replied with the following: "I can confirm that they is no issue with delivery to this address mail is being deliver as address and the unit is not holding any mail" . It is of course not remotely true that there is no issue with delivery...

You shouldn't have to do this at all, but if you believe this is a significant problem, to assist yourself in gaining evidence that there is a problemsgbsgb wrote:The latest response I got is “Hi, as of 01/02 [5 days ago] the office had replied with the following: "I can confirm that they is no issue with delivery to this address mail is being deliver as address and the unit is not holding any mail" . have you thought of posting yourself a series of letters (from the same box and at the same time each day) identifying each one with a
number and recording when you posted them and recording if/when they get to you?

They finally delivered it this morning. Postman came at 7am which never normally happens, so I guess the escalation (I also emailed the ceo) finally led to someone calling the local delivery office and telling them to sort it out promptly.

Most duties don't start till after and even if they have most have been going only for a few minutes. I'd still keep an eye on things as individually what you've posted isn't much to worry about, but add them altogether something doesn't (add up).
