There are 2 things for certain in these negotiations which is all delivery staff will be inconvenienced and will have to work harder, mark my words.
The last big Union/RM agreement meant RM employees who did not do deliveries got payments for D2D :coolr

I know he's Plymouth but I still don't get the connection to us.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Part of me wants the talks to go on forever, at least that way I don't have to worry about what they have agreed.
For Royal Mail this has all been about pensions, all the rest if piffle to the board and our investors.
I just hope no one has been sold out. Existing Royal mail pension scheme members or those who at present have a poor pension, Mail centre or delivery posties.
Pitting one against the other is not good. I also hope our union have not fallen for that old trick of not back dating pay.
Hopefully this will be my last pay agreement. Three years to go!
All the best for us all, I live in hope (and fear)

For what it's worth I agree with you on both points. :arrrghhh

It would be quite nice if all this wasn't announced until after the PEC recommend it. Speculation and conjecture until then.

The Postal executive can amend the agreement and than the National Officers will have to go back into negotiations to try and achieve those amemenemts , the Postal executive could reject or accept the agreement.

Once the Postal Executive have voted to accept the agreement and recommend it to the members it is than it will be subject to wider consultation.

First will be a two day meeting of the Div Reps , than a National Briefing and that 9 Divisional meetings where the unit reps will be in attendance.

During this time Divisions and Branch’s will decide where they will be recommending the agreement to their members or recommending rejection.

In addition there will loads of gate meetings to discuss the merits or otherwise of the agreement to the members.

The members will than have the final say in a vote.

There will be nothing to hide but this is the process which things will take.
So .......we had the biggest vote in the history of man only to be taken to the high court and stiffed for costs and made not to strike, then we have weeks and weeks of feck all, then we have an announcement that was put off just so some spivs and insider dealers could make a quick buck, then the so called deal of the Century or `on the cusp of greatness or whatever bollocks it was called and I've had to tell my members sorry you will have to wait again until next week but I can't even furnish you with the basics but rest assured that eventually we will have somebody turn up from Div :left: and tell us how great a deal it all is, meanwhile Uncle Terry and his RM cronies are convinced that the pension issue is `sorted` even though they know for a fact that it hasn't even been made legal....well I'm convinced.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
