Fire alarm checks

So if it's not set off when people are there how are they going to recognise it when it is set off for real. And before you say 'I know what a fire alarm sounds like'
they are NOT all the same bell ringing type alarms. I've heard klaxons, whooping sounds etc in different buildings I've worked in. And still people stuck their
heads out of their office doors and said 'What's that then?' :arrrghhh

You don't test the fire alarm system so that people know what it sounds like. You test it to make sure it works. If people need explaining what that loud siren noise is perhaps natural selection is playing its part.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

And if there were no fire alarm systems natural selection would play an even bigger role with those able to see a fire and run fastest having the best chance of survival.
( not that I'm suggesting that :arrrghhh )

We have one every few years, whether we need it or not. :cuppa
