Wrong street, correct postcode

Post by enp »

Hi, I am expecting parcel from abroad and stupid mistake made - wrong street name. Basically, my house number and post code are correct but the street name is ''close'' instead of the correct one - ''court''. The trouble is there is the same house number and street name as the wrong one I gave with obviously just different post code.

I was wondering if it is more likely the parcel to be delivered to me or to that other place? Many thanks

It will get to you because of the postcode.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

:d'oh! For 99.9% of addresses the last thing a postman will look at is the postcode.

Most likely scenario is delivery attempted to the other address. If it is small enough it will be posted. Otherwise, if the person is in then chances are the mistake will be spotted and it will be delivered to your address. If not, a card will be left and likely the occupant will do nothing and it will be returned to sender.

Chances are it will not be delivered to you. You might be lucky and the regular postman will spot it.
