Hi,
I got a Something for you card and arranged a redelivery, I got an email saying that the redelivery would be done on the 2nd of Dec to my local post office. However they claim they never got it. I raised a complaint and got a confirmation that the redelivery had been successful. I tried the post office again but no luck.
The parcel was not tracked and was sent via regular post.
I was told to raise a claim but my scenario is not listed on the royal mail site.
Could anyone advise?
Thanks in advance.

Redelivery to local post office - Parcel lost
A common point of confusion is that Royal Mail will only redeliver to a Post Office in your postcode area. So if your postcode begins AB10, RM will only redeliver to a PO that has a postcode beginning AB10, which sometimes means that they won’t redeliver to the PO you want. Another problem is that a lot of smaller POs won’t accept these items on a permanent basis because they are too small, on a temporary basis because they are too full or on an ad-hoc basis because the item is too big. RM may also refuse to take it to the PO for a number of reasons, for instance because there is a charge to pay.
When I worked for the PO the RM online redelivery app did not reflect any of the above. There was also no way of confirming that an untracked item had arrived at the destination PO. Any or of all of this may still be true.
A couple of years ago, scammers were using fake while you were out cards to collect bogus fees. I hope you were expecting something.
Regarding a claim, if you bought it from an online shop then you should be claiming from the retailer or, if they don’t respond positively, your card company. If sent to you by a friend or relative, it should really be them that claims. If all else fails, download and submit a paper P58 form (you can also get them from the P.O.)

Redelivery to local post office - Parcel lost
Hi,
Thank you for the info. The post office was certainly valid as I did the redelivery online and it was listed as an option.
I will try to avoid redelivering to another post office in future.
