Royal Mail Tracked 24

Hi,

I've made an order via eBay over the weekend. Seller despatched on Monday 4th and it was received that evening 0857PM at the Leeds Centre. Next day it arrived at Edinburgh mail centre (delivery address is Glasgow). It's been scanned 4 times within Edinburgh mail centre as 'item received.' Last update of this was 0657AM on the 5th. It's not moved since. I used Royal Mail Chat to discuss it and I was advised to wait another 7 working days before being concerned that Royal Mail 24 is no guarantee of delivery within 24 hours. It could take 9/10 working days.

I highlighted some concern that it hadn't moved since very early yesterday and it was in the Edinburgh centre rather than Glasgow. I was advised this was not unusual and they were confident it would arrive within this new time frame.

Does anyone have any idea if this is usual for this service? Would it go via Edinburgh from Leeds? I realise I probably sound uptight when it's only a day late from the order confirmation but it's a gift and it's for someone that could really be doing with the cheer up.
