Hi everyone,
I have a question relating to an item which departed a transfer airport San Francisco; the tracking is LA004299069US.
Could someone explain to me why my item left a transfer airport on November 29th at 3:56pm PST but is showing as not arriving at Heathrow.
I have received many orders from the USA before and always the tracking has updated within a few hours of the plane landing.
I have checked http://uk.flightaware.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and can see that the only plane to depart from San Francisco at around 3:56pm PST was
http://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/U ... /KSFO/EGLL" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This plane landed at 09:19am GMT
I know its too early to start worrying, but just looking to gain an insight into why the tracking is not showing it as having "Departed London" as it normally does.
As I mentioned previously, the status usually updates within 3 hours of it arriving at Heathrow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Its not showing on the Royal Mail track and trace site so the only other place it can be is in Customs undergoing safety, tax and security checks.
USPS normally do scan them before passing them through Customs, but they may have decided to suspend that operation over the Christmas period. Or it may be that USPS missed scanning your item through human error.
However, as soon as RM do receive it, scans will be made and track and trace updated. Shortly after, unless there is an issue, the item should be delivered. However, please be aware with the Christmas rush having started in earnest this week, delays at customs may start building.

The plane departed SFO at 3:10pm. The plane was in the air before the parcel was ready to be put on it. Your parcel was, therefore, not on that plane.david007 wrote: Could someone explain to me why my item left a transfer airport on November 29th at 3:56pm PST but is showing as not arriving at Heathrow.

Thank you for the reply TrueBlueTerrier. Hopefully it will get scanned at some point on usps or royal mail tracking.
swindonandy I would have thought the same thing, however what throws me off is the fact that the last tracking point was that it "departed a transfer airport in international San Francisco". This would have me believe that it's on a plane and on its way, that's what has always happened in the past.
Fingers crossed it gets here before Xmas.

Likely it had passed the departure point at the airport, but missed the plane so is sitting in a metal box waiting for the next plane.david007 wrote:Thank you for the reply TrueBlueTerrier. Hopefully it will get scanned at some point on usps or royal mail tracking.

Similar to when you check in a bag, it is tagged and put on the belt, therefore it is considered checked in and out of your reach. However, due to whatever reasons, it may not make it onto the plane.

Did your parcel come? Mine is in the same boat left San Francisco airport on the 26th and I’ve had no tracking updates to say it’s landed at Heathrow
