a confusing address, how can I figure out the right address?
I am an ebay seller. there is a customer who seems to be new on ebay. so I search her address on google. I find out her postcode and address doesn't totally match. the first part of the postcode are the same, but the second part of the postcode are totally different. let's say she gave me the address as 1 apple road, orange city, AB1 2CD. but when I google "1 apple road, orange city", the result shows postcode "AB1 3ED" to that address. If I contact royal mail, can they find out and tell me if this address is valid?

It sounds like you have used Royal Mail's postcode finder already:
https://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you ask Royal Mail about it, all they can do is tell you what is in that database. So yes, it is best to contact the buyer: lots people make errors with their own postcode!
