nuns wrote:seniority was ok in the past , your in a job thats in competition with people who get nowhere near what you get in benefits/wage.
with all the new starters they are picking up all the scraps while some are milking all the overtime doing 2 easy walks and still getting back before people doing unsigned walks.
the reason the old boys don't like any change is had too good for so long the hate being told different(spanner in the works), like robots in been drummed into them over the years, thats why if had rotation every 3 months its keeping people fresh/open to change.
even with the union its feels like you have to join it to survive, this needs to change as well

Come back in 20 years and tell us that Seniority is a bad system.
There is a good chance that you will have changed your opinion by then.

Most walks are hard now only the amount of packets some get make them so much longer to do. For me keeping the same walk is good you get to know where and who you can leave packets with mistakes do not mean complaints as people tell you rather then complain.

Whether I have a day off, or God forbid a week off, I come back to work with some of my customers waiting to complain..They do it because they know it is not my fault if their mail is misdelivered or their packet isn't left in the garden shed. Totally agree with cpsteve s post :Very Happy

At the end of their duty or later if they prefer.

Nobody is allowed to go home until the end of their duty.

Cut Off and go home it is the managers job after that!
This topic of choice was equalising duties.
How does cutting off or working overtime equalise duties?
With the wide range of outdoor performance it's not even an accurate gauge of duty size.
Just keep doing it and you will see. :left:

One thing to add , a customer of a new house added to my round said today " it's nice to have a regular postie again .That says at great deal about how the public sees the regular delivery person . I treat my customers and property with respect , don't walk on the grass ,leave pkts safely and my customers trust me too do so . I get told when most are on holiday , change the personnel every few months all the above is gone .
My rest day cover left books on a doorstep which were left all night plus dumped post in a food recycle bin which was filthy on my day off Monday , lack of commonsense perhaps
