Lost parcel?

Post by paps13 »

Hi my name is Nick. On 15th of September I payed 5 items from Greece to Uk all properly delivered except one and maybe the most important . It’s all really 11 days and I think it might have been lost . Here in greece Elta the company I mailed the parcel cannot really help me . Royal Mail on the other side doesn’t provide any tracking info until it’s delivered . Can this delay seem logical? Or do items from greece enter customs? The other stuff destination was London and this on to Stratfordshire.I was wandering if there is anyone I could speak to in order to help me find the parcel or give any info with whom should I speak of. The tracking number is RE604640456GR and its destination Stoke on Trent . St16qt. Thank you all in advance. Kind regards.

Your item is almost certainly stuck in customs, given the point at which the tracking stops. Items from every country go through customs and items are chosen at random for deeper checks. Customs do not take enquiries about progress through any communication method. Royal Mail's system cannot 'see' your parcel until customs release it to them.

The only potentially serious problem here is that you have sent something that falls foul of customs rules - you did say that this one was different to the others - what did you send?

THe product is a jacket I don’t think is dangerous though. The destination was different and the others were in envelope and this in a box. Thanks

There shouldn’t be anything wrong with sending clothing. Probably just stopped for a thorough check.

Whilst much longer than usual, it isn’t unknown for items to take this long. 2 years ago, items were regularly taking 4-6 weeks.

Although there is free movement of goods between EU countries, each individual state has a list of things which are not allowed, so some customs checks must remain. One of the most common problems with items coming to the UK is the inclusion of tobacco products, which are so tightly regulated it is almost impossible to post them in to the UK.
