So I bought an item, but it had the wrong postcode on when posted special delivery, but the right first line address so I hoped itd be fine.
Now on the tracking I see it's 'Latest update: Sent to National Returns Centre' even though the last tracked location was a PDO literally 1 mile away.
Is there still any chance I'll get it? Even using the first line address, there's only one location it could possibly be and thats here, a mile away from that post office. Painful. Given that this happened this morning, would I be able to go down there monday morning and try to collect, or would it already be gone?

if its been sent to NRC they will open it and look for return address and send it back to sender.plantfood wrote:So I bought an item, but it had the wrong postcode on when posted special delivery, but the right first line address so I hoped itd be fine.

Wrong postcode - NRC? Help!
I asked the sender and he said he didn't put a return address on/in it. So there's that.aiden01 wrote:if its been sent to NRC they will open it and look for return address and send it back to sender.plantfood wrote:So I bought an item, but it had the wrong postcode on when posted special delivery, but the right first line address so I hoped itd be fine.

Is it sent to NRC straight away? I'm wondering if I'll be able to go to the PDO monday morning, provide ID, show a picture of the postage receipt and get it?

If it says on way to NRC I would imagine it has already left delivery office.plantfood wrote:I asked the sender and he said he didn't put a return address on/in it. Well. s**t. The tracking doesn't show its arrived anywhere, but the opening line before you enter tracking says 'Sent to national returns centre'. It seems a little hasty to attempt deliver at 9.30 in London and then send it to Belfast at 10am.
How hard is it to get an item back once it goes to NRC without a returns address? Wondering what I should do now. The postage was insured for the correct amount, so I assume seller can claim it back at minimum. But given that I gave the wrong address I'm not sure whether I should get a refund now or what.

It has been sent Special Delivery, so it is supposed to get priority handling. That's exactly what this is!plantfood wrote:Well. s**t. No, the seller can't claim for late delivery as supply of a full & correct address is a condition of that guarantee, and the sender can't claim for loss because it isn't lost.plantfood wrote:The postage was insured for the correct amount, so I assume seller can claim it back at minimum. Either you or the sender need to fill in a P58inland form. I suggest that you coordinate with them so that only one of you sends one in. If you include the tracking number, full description of the package and all of the address details (sender, address on parcel, intended address, brief description of the circumstances) then the parcel should either be sent to you or returned to the sender in a few weeks.plantfood wrote:How hard is it to get an item back once it goes to NRC without a returns address?
