"Surely Royal Mail can't do this after we scabbed last time
June the union vote YES 'solidarity for ever'.
RM do that with HYS I think we should trust our fellow union members after all it's not a bonus tick point as for the managers but what I would say is TALK to your fellow workers about this but don't tell them how to vote just that they need to have their say or pick splinters out of their ass for the rest of their working lives!chickenwittle wrote:Think my point has been missed , ballot papers go to home address we make our vote in private , seal envelopes , give to union rep , name ticked off list as voted
Im not judging you either..but by voting no it means you are prepared to accept all their crap...meaning you will end up losing thousands from your pension..later start times..no pay rise...team working where if someone is on annual leave or goes sick you will have to absorb their workload which will inevitably lead to you working over your time for NO extra pay...you will HAVE to do it..you could be out til 7 pm.. 6 hour deliveries will mean many thousands of jobs will be lost..yours could well be one of them...WHY would anyone want to vote for that??..join us and vote to protect yours and your colleagues futures...vote YESGT85 wrote:Not judging you, its personal choice after all, but wondering why you wish to vote No ?I want to vote No but I'm not in the union
Not heard about RM's plans for walk ownership and team working?jab0510 wrote:My reason for a no vote.
Royal Mail is now a private company meaning they can do as they please within reason, they are not a charity. It is owned by shareholders who invest in it for a return.
DB pensions theses days are dead and buried the DC offer is still good compared to most companies.
So we have to start later! Not ideal but again it's Royal Mails right to change to operational needs. At least we have time for breakfast at home before work.
Pay is the only gripe I have, I believe it should always be at least with inflation.
We have a start and finish time just do your job in between it. Don't like it leave. Welcome to the new world.
Currently we have a start and finish time. If RM get their way then you will have a set workload to complete rather than set hours, regardless of how long this takes.jab0510 wrote:My reason for a no vote.

This will never happen it's not legal to make people work beyond their contracted weekly hours....Dayman! wrote:Currently we have a start and finish time. One scenario for an invalid ballot that was used by our union rep to highlight how important your vote is;TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Ballots will have to achieve at least a 50% turnout of eligible union members, with a majority voting in favour of strike action.
Walk ownership effectively means no finish time. If you go over your contracted hours you won't be paid overtime like we are now. Whatever comes into the office will go out. There'll be no 'I haven't got time' anymore.jab0510 wrote:My reason for a no vote.

There is no way in hell of this scenario, but I do understand where your Rep is coming from, MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT< VOTE YES BUT MOST OF ALL VOTE< VOTE > VOTE>ScousePostie wrote:One scenario for an invalid ballot that was used by our union rep to highlight how important your vote is;TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Ballots will have to achieve at least a 50% turnout of eligible union members, with a majority voting in favour of strike action.
100% yes vote
0% no vote
49% turnout
This would be an invalid ballot.
Exactly. There is no way this would happen, ever. But it's a good way of showing how your vote counts.Glenno wrote:There is no way in hell of this scenario, but I do understand where your Rep is coming from, MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT< VOTE YES BUT MOST OF ALL VOTE< VOTE > VOTE>ScousePostie wrote:One scenario for an invalid ballot that was used by our union rep to highlight how important your vote is;TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Ballots will have to achieve at least a 50% turnout of eligible union members, with a majority voting in favour of strike action.
