SAVE DAVE! WE WANT OUR POSTMAN BACK!!
As a customer in a rural round in Coombe Green, Malvern, Worcestershire, our Postman Dave has lost his round after 10yrs due to a RESIGN. The Manager at Great Malvern Sorting Office made this decision and it has affect d 48 rounds served by some 60 postmen and women. Some having operated the same round for up to 16yrs. Many of them are unhappy, but we, as customers are devastated. We have taken the story to the local newspapers and radio who picked up the story as highly relevant to the community and a significant human interest story. We are in communication with the Chairman and Chief Executive's Office at Royal Mail and are urging our postmen to put pressure on he CWU to challenge this decision. We care very much about our long-standing, regular postmen and women and are continuing our fight to get them back. Any advice would be apppreciated. Jo Symonds

I am afraid the Manager is only carrying out the instructions of head office to save money. This usually means the number of rounds is reduced and people are moved (the resign bit). This is also in accordance with agreements Royal Mail has with the Union so you probably won't get any support there either.
Sometimes these campaigns may succeed however all the posties at the office are being treated exactly the same way, and this is something we all have to face from time to time.
