Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class letter

Post by lalaalex »

Hi all,

I have a very very important letter that was sent to me via Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class on Tuesday 4 April. The sender confirmed me that it should be with me on Thursday or Friday. They also gave me a tracking number which showing: "Information on your Royal Mail Signed For™ item is not yet available." and continues to do so today, 4 days later. Has anyone experienced this sort of thing before? When can I expect my delivery to arrive? As far as I know most people got the letter within 2-3 working days if using Signed For 2nd Class.

It's probably the usual intermittent tracking system problems, somebody else mentioned this on Friday. Being a Signed For item, you might only get the sending and receiving on the tracking with nothing in between.

Thank you Snaggletooth, I do understand tracking details available once letter delivered but do you think a signed for 2nd class letter will arrive after the due date? Should I contact the sender or wait a bit more? This is very important letter and it should be with me in time.

If it is that important it should have been sent by a time guaranteed service like Special Delivery.

There isn't a due date for Signed For as it is not a guaranteed service.
