A few days ago, I ordered a couple of wedding bands through Etsy - the seller sent it via first class.
A few days later, I hadn't received the item. I looked back at my invoice and saw that the post code was incorrect!
I used to live in London, but moved up to Glasgow a couple of years ago - I neglected to update the post code on my Etsy account. So the item has a Glasgow address, but a London postcode...
I contacted the seller who told me he has a return address on the parcel, and that he'd contact me if it's returned.
My questions are as follows:
1) will the item definitely be returned to the seller?
2) might the item instead make its way up to Glasgow? The address does say the correct street, flat and city.
3) if the item is to be returned to the seller, how long would it usually take?
4) if I go down to the delivery office (the one in Kilburn) in a few days, can I get them to give it to me if I have ID?
5) is there any chance of the item just being disposed of??
6) is there any way at all to contact the staff in the sorting office to see if the item is still there? My family (where I used to live) are just 2 mins from the sorting office... Perhaps I could get them to pick it up for me if I send them my ID?? Or amend the address on the letter to be sent to my family's home?
Thanks. I'll triple check addresses next time - I guess I got complacent with address auto-fills...
