Well, as I've already mentioned in the other dog thread in the last week, I had my finger end all but removed and badly crushed by a dog through a letterbox. After surgery to hopefully re-attach I'm obviously going to lose not just wages and maybe even the ability to do my job again as well as I did before, but my ability to continue my life without having to make changes until perhaps one day I can once gain use my finger.
The thing which pisses me off is that this canine behaviour of attacking mail is too common. The Police state that under their rules, the dangerous dogs act, these dogs can remove our fingers without them being able to act against them or their owners.
Surely if the owner, who has legal control, has not trained their animal sufficiently to prevent harm coming to those with whom they may legitimately come into contact, then a law must have been broken. As the Police are the law upholders they must by definition be able to prevent this from continuing to happen.
