Parcel exported Italy, where is it now???!

Post by Skyfallofpies »

Hi,
Thought I would give this forum a try as I keep getting different suggestions and answers from customer services.
Had two parcels sent from Italy, the second arrived in a week the other posted on 27th January and was exported on the 31st, status is:

2017-01-31 10:48,
Departure from outward office of exchange, MILANO C.S.I

This is the last scan on Poste Italiane site. Royal Mail customer services say it has arrived in the UK on 02/02/2017 but hasn't been handed over to RM yet and another said it was sorting and the seller from Italy said he had spoken to the Italian postal service and they said it arrived on 02/02/2017 and is awaiting sorting??!! I have been advised to wait until Friday 24th (4 weeks) then contact the seller.
All I would like to know is will I see it as I hope it's not lost as it's a very expensive prop kit.

Tracks no number is RA904167535IT

Hope you can help ☹️

Yes still hope for you getting it. The tracking from Italian Post and nothing on Royal Mails gives all the indications that its stuck in UCustoms for some reason.

I hope it's not lost that's all, hopefully it will turn up I still have hope!
I assume it's scanned once out of customs as customer services did say it has arrived. Never had this happen before before?

It happens to a small minority of parcels but it's the number one question on here.

Check your contract with the seller, you may be able to get a partial refund from them or your credit card provider. Under U.K. law it is the seller's responsibility to get the item to you in the contracted time, failure of the postal system is their problem not yours. This extends to sellers in other EU countries if you paid by credit card.

I have spoken to the seller and he is able to send replacements but for material costs which is a fraction of the cost but I am not willing to pay anything as he will need to speak to the Italian postal service or Royal Mail. I payed the seller via PayPal so I am protected.

I hope your not saying it's lost, I would be so devastated. Have you ever encountered this issue before and the parcel arrived?

Yes its a common occurrence.

99% if not 99.9% do eventually turn up.
