Mangled addresses

Post by tizali »

Hi RoyalMailChat,

I posted around 100 parcels a couple of weeks ago using addresses I had copied from a spreadsheet. I dropped them off at a Post Office using Drop & Go.

I've just received three of them back marked 'no such address'. On further inspection it appears that when I imported the CSV file with the addresses on into excel, it split one of the address lines into three cells and shifted all the other first lines along.

As a result 12 of the parcels were printed with addresses that have the wrong first line. Quite a few of these have gone abroad. They all have return addresses on them. What are my options in terms of getting them to the correct addresses? Is there someone I can contact with the correct addresses at a sorting office either in the UK or abroad? Do I need to buy postage for the parcels all over again when they make it back?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry but there is no way of changing the destination address of a parcel once it's in transit for very good legal reasons. They will come back to you in a few weeks and yes, you will have to pay again as RM has transported them in good faith.
