Hi there,
This is my first post on here so I hope someone may be able to help out.
I am waiting on a parcel arriving from China(peoples republic) and the seller provided me with a tracking number - LX963731712CN. It was sent via ChinaPost and when I enter the tracking number on royal mails track and trace it comes up with a message saying "last update: please try again". When I click on "where has my item been" it shows me that both on the 9th of August it has arrived at Heathrow at 3:11, then at 3:41 it is on its way to Glasgow mail centre.
Does this mean that it has been scanned in at heathrow and half an hour later it has been scanned out and is making its way to glasgow? Or that it is going through customs then making its way to glasgow? I had a thought that RM wouldn't get an update until they have a hold of it?
I'm not sure if I need a different tracking number for RM to give me more info since its saying please try again.

That tracking number is in the right format. RM's tracking system has frequent glitches, I suspect that's what the issue was.
You are correct that it doesn't show up on RM's systems until it has cleared customs, and it's conceivable that it was sent straight to Glasgow after receipt. From the way you describe the tracking, it's already with Royal Mail.
