Postman not turning up

Post by clarey68 »

I'm pretty sure my postman has simply stopped coming, i have ried ringing royal mail but after 25 minutes on hold i gave up...my road is a grove, its a keyhole shape, the numbers run 1,2,3 ect there is no even side or odd side...half of that road is flats, thats where i live, now a postman comes by 10am and deliveres up to number 56, he then walks past and goes from 93 onwards...then he goes away and a different one turns up after 1:30 pm and delivers to the rest of us who got missed out earlier ...but since friday no postman has come to us, there are 6 flats in my block, none of us have had mail, neither has the block next door...not even junk mail, the postman or post van he comes in hasnt been seen by anyone, not even the nosey lady who see everything and trust me shes been watching for him!
im expecting something which was posted first class last tuesday, surely it should have been here by now. Who do i contact about this??

It sounds as though your road/area is a lapsed round. This is where multiple posties do various parts of a round before or after they do their own. Its a national management exercise to make posties more efficient. I'll leave it up to you to decide if it is.

If you called the local number they don't have dedicated support staff and the complaint won't be logged as an official one. However if you call the national number

03457 740 740. We're open Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-1pm and Sunday 9am-2pm

It is then logged and managers have to respond within a certain timescale.

My advice is to get as many of your neighbours that have been affected to complain, and I apologise about the interminable process before you get to speak to a human, but it is better to go that way in the long run.

Thank you TrueBlueTerrier, i have tried to ring my local office 3 times now but no one answers, i phoned the number you game me and a lovely lady agreed that it did sound odd, she also tried to ring the local office and got no answer so she was going to email them, she said maybe someone should be covering the round because of the summer holidays and something has been mixed up but the complaint has been logged and she said she would get back to me tomorrow IF she can get an answer from the local royal office, i will speak to my neighbours later too and give them the number to ring.
i bet my missing mail will turn up tomorrow!!
