Hi, I sent a autograph to America from the Uk on the 4/4/16 using royal mails international tracked and signed service, it arrived in the US On the 6/4/16 but has disappeared, royal mail have paid out compensation of £50 as thats all I insured it for as didn't think it would go missing with the tracked and signed service, the autograph is worth just over £1000 so have had to refund the buyer so really need it to be located, would it be back at the belfast return centre by now possibly? if so I really would like to email them but I can not find their email address anywhere? apparently royal mail don't give the info out so how can anyone email/ring belfast to enquire about a missing letter/parcel?
Any answers/feedback would be very much appreciated
Thanks

Have you tried contacting US Customs? It might have been liable for a customs chargeSHANEW4883 wrote: the autograph is worth just over £1000

Hi, it must of got through customs as on the tracking it states that it arrived at the Ohio post office on 11th April at Broadview Heights post office which I have looked up and is only 11 minutes from the recipients address. please see the tracking info from the USPS site below, so basically its a mystery, its a john lennon Autograph. I bought it for £550 and sold it for £725 so loss of £1225 at this point so really hoping it will be delivered or be returned to me. Just thought it might help if I could see if it is back at the return centre in Belfast? does anyone know why the address, email and phone number is so difficult to locate for the return centre in belfast? If anyone can help with these details that would be great as obviously am pretty stressed about this whole situation.

The reason there is no contact address is that it's the sheer number of items mean it's pointless for customers being able to contact them direct, it's not like they can get your email and then go and try and find your item for you, they gwt thousands and thousand of items returned each day, it's done the other way round items are checked to see if they match up with items that have been reported missing with the correct claim form or have return details

Oh right, just wondered why it was so difficult to find their info, the return address is on the front of the envelope as I had to put a return address or it wouldn't let me buy the postage online.
So basically unless it was stolen while in the states, it should be returned to me sometime within the next 2-3 months?

Anything carrying a return address should be sent straight back to you and not go to Belfast. Of course it is possible that adhesive label(s) have come off (happens all the time) in which case it will go through the NRC.

So guessing it could be up to 6 months even from now until it could arrive back with me then

Most likely is that something has gone wrong at the delivery office in the USA, which is why the trail goes cold there. One possibility is that the DO failed to properly record that the item was collected, that the buyer noticed this and fraudulently put in a claim. What did the buyer say to you?

Hi, the buyer said that he went into the post office and asked if there was anything for him but was told that there wasn't, he messaged me last week to say that he had had 3 items delivered that he needed to be signed for but none of them were the autograph, at least stuff is going to his address, obviously just not the autograph, still in shock really that it could arrive at the PO in Ohio then just disappear?
