As per previous replies its hard to pin it down to a set time, you could get it in the next few days, or it could take another 4 - 5 weeks. Its out of RMs control if it is Customs.

for official information contact @RoyalMail direct - if you can PM them your tracking number.

However if its in customs there is no much Royal Mail can do, and there is no way to contact Customs at Langley or Heathrow.

Parcel stuck at heathrow

Post by metalmidget »

Been waiting for a parcel I ordered a month ago. USPS tracked it to Heathrow and it's said for the past 6 days now that it's in transit to its "destination". I called both royal mail and parcel force as they're the main UK parcel couriers (expecially for USPS) to track the status of my parcel to which neither of them have record of my reference number or parcel at all and I were even told by a royal mail customer service worker that the tracking info were wrong (basically calling me a liar)... so where on earth is it and how do I find it? I need it as soon as possible.

USPS Always scan their mail in at Heathrow before it enters customs. If it appears on their tracking, but not Royal Mails then it is most likely still going through customs. Delays at Customs, which Royal mail have no control over can be as much as 6 weeks. Also if the item is worth more than £15 there may be VAT to pay and this will usually be the cause of the delay.

LANGLEY HWDC ???

Post by OLA123 »

Oh no..

I have ordered tickets to the EURO 2016 from a person in UK. I live in Norway and the tickets where sent May 27th.. Now the tracking says "Langley HWDC", so I googled that and found this tread.. I am leaving for France to see the EURO on June 14th.. Without tickets there really isnt much point..

Does LANGLEY HWDC allways mean that it will take weeks and months to get thru? Or can I be lucky?

Please give me som positive news guys :)

Thanks for quick response SpacePhoenix.

The Royalmail tracking says:
Your item, posted on 27/05/16 with reference RU810128480GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in NORWAY.

While the tracking on Posten(Norwegian mail) says:
28.05.2016 05:42, LANGLEY HWDC, Storbritannia

I know this might sound as a premature worry, but when reading this tread it sounds like LANGLEY HWDC is weeks and weeks of trouble every time.

Cheers

My Parcel delivered by by USPS (LZ875292468US) has been stuck in Heathrow since the 6th of MAY! I'm so annoyed because i was really looking forward to this package :( I've contacted the sender and they say contact the post office and then when i contact the post office they say contact the sender. IM SO CONFUSED!!!!

What do i do now ?!?!

I have no idea where it could be or what i can do to make this process go faster!!

There can be big delays on items at Langley when they enter the UK, as yours is travelling in the other direction it is normally fine. However, in the same way that hold-ups happen inbound to the UK, you will see from earlier in this thread that small delays do sometimes happen in-bound to Norway, and the tracking will likely continue to read as it does now until Norwegian customs finish with it.

Given the item should be letter sized I would expect it to clear customs in plenty of time.

It appears to be stuck in customs and there is no way to speed this up - they are an independent government agency and they don't take instructions or feedback from anyone except the government.

You need to pursue the sender over this and lodge a claim via the website you bought it from, it is their responsibility to get the item to you. If the item doesn't arrive in a week the seller should be able to claim the full value back from USPS anyway (assuming the sender took out full cover, many don't).

The answer will be the same as for the last poster in this thread: it's stuck in customs. Their item has been there 2 weeks longer than yours though.
