There really is no justification for this kind of treatment. All managers should receive the same sort of info we get in the LTB's regarding poll cards and election material. If you've got a rep then show the revalant topics on here, or even better print out the LTBs and place on CWU notice board and make sure you bring it up in WTL.

We always ask the DOM to put details over the tanoy a couple of times in the morning before and the morning of the poll cards or election stuff coming into the office. Also if your rep doesn't know the pence per item then contact either your area rep or branch secretary.

The union doesn't know what is happening in yours or my DO if we don't tell them, I used to regularly email HQ if I thought it was required and always received a reply, don't forget the CWU now has a medai person in Chris Webb, so I expect them to be on top of replying to reps etc.

Some times we just have to realise sometimes the best people to sort this kind of thing out is OURSELVES :Very Happy

Anyone who knows Chris Webb, knows he is the biggest bullshiter of all time and wouldn't trust him to tie your shoe laces.

Again if that is the case and I don't personally know him, then it is up to us to make him do what he said he wanted to do. We need to email HQ more often if things are not as HQ said they would be. We always getsomeone senior at our AGM as well, get along to AGM and put them on the spot and get your views over, they can't duck the question when your branch is all around.

Why isn't every office the same ? we get 3 days to deliver poll cards, no choice of overtime. We have 3 days to deliver EU ref. material at 3.3p per item unless they come in as D2D. This should be the same throughout Royal Mail ?? :confused

to be honest our rep is very good and he has been trying his best to sort the office out with loads of issues , no wtls , no info to staff , non use of lwts etc , and on a weekly basis he sends all this to the area rep but that's where it stops , can anybody email HQ or do you have to be a rep , thanks.

Sounds as though your rep has a job on their hands, do you have a sub-rep or committee as well to help out? If he think the area rep is not helping, as to see area reps resource meeting text, but take it to div rep.
I'm an ex rep now, but I still email HQ with issues, sometimes the reply is just confirmation on what you thought, others have been taken to RM direct by HQ.

I was lucky I had a good area rep who I got on with, but sometimes we had to go higher to get things accomplished. It's hard work which is why I asked if there was a sub or committee, I did it for a number of years, but it does take it's toll in the end which is why I'm an ex rep now :Very Happy

And? You do exactly the same in the office they send you to, put in a grievance against that manager.

Use the info that is on the site!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We got 1 day to deliver poll cards. No ext delivery ot allowed. Got 1.5 times our delivery points x 3p per item regardless of how many. Not a great deal in my opinion. Will be telling them to poke it next time. No regard for anyone who has commitments outside RM. I think there needs to be better communication and one national (not local) agreement and universal payment and make sure all units are aware and it is published and on the wall so management cant take the p.ss. Why is everything so disjointed and chaotic. Its not rocket science.
