Well I ordered a item from a retail, when confirm on the postage, it said it will be a special delivery on Saturday. I waited since 6:30 this morning and now when I check the tracker it said delivery attempted with the message "
Item ********** could not be delivered on 30/04/16 07:02 (and no Safeplace option was specified by the addressee). A"something for you card" will have been delivered, the item will be returned to NORTH CARDIFF pending instructions from the addressee. You can arrange a redelivery online, call the NORTH CARDIFF office to arrange a re-delivery, or collect the item from NORTH CARDIFF by bringing proof of identification and address.
I receive no "something for you card" nor I get any knock on my door, I also have a security camera turn on at that time. No one parked near my driveway no one come close near my house.

How do I suppose to collect a item if I didn't get the card in the first place?

Any help?

You should be able to collect from your local delivery office from Tuesday with proof of ID for the addressee (passport, driving licence).

Just to check, Cardiff North is your local DO? Just in case you have been given the wrong barcode number.

there are 2 things of concern here.

07:02 is very early for a delivery so I "suspect" someone has either been instructed to scan it as delivery attempted whilst still in the office, or has done so in error. They shouldn't so I would make a complaint about it. However, if they have done so there is a fair chance that they may deliver it today.

Also with "Special Delivery" (even Saturday Guaranteed ones) there is no "Safe Place" option so I suspect its been sent out as a tracked 24-hour delivery, not a "Special Delivery". I "may" be able to confirm this if you can give me the first 2 letters of the tracking code.

A something for you card might have been put in the wrong address but its strange that it has been scanned so early. Having said that sometimes people are out that early delivering specials and parcels in our office.
