Missing parcel/Tracking query

Post by Danto »

Hello i need a bit of advice regarding tracking I had two items posted yesterday via royal mail first class tracked, one from Durham and one from Stockton-on-tees, which is only 30 miles apart from each other, they were being posted to me just 90 miles away in wigton but only one arrived today (the one from Durham) the tracking stated posted at post office and processing as soon as I received the tracking number yesterday KX700740655GB, but the other item hasn't arrived, now I understand first class can take 1-2 days generally but the tracking info has me very worried KX274899825GB as it does not even show as being posted could this be the reason it hasn't arrived and can anyone advice me as to whether this parcel will turn up tommorow or if it has even been sent.

Thanks

Danto

Tracking query

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Just to ensure clarity neither of those numbers are actually for Tracked services, they are both Royal Mail Signed for.

Tracked and Signed For are different in how they are processed, the main difference is that tracked goes through the system separately and is scanned at various points, where "signed for" isn't treated any differently than normal mail, in fact, it's usually only scanned if it's sent at a Post Office and when delivery is attempted.

Your item may have been sent by a bulk sender and if so it will enter the system probably without any scans until your postman knocks on your door. The good news is this means it may already be in the system and hopefully be delivered in the next few days. Its a waiting game, unfortunately.

Thanks for the replyreply TrueBlue :-) putputs my mind at ease, as far as I know the sender is a bulk sender so as you say I guess its just a waiting game thanks for the reassurance.

This item shows as being posted exactly 1 minute after your first post. It was posted in the Teeside.
