HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC

Post by addsanchez »

This probably gets asked all the time but was wondering if anyone can give any answers as cant seem to find a straight answer anywhere or there are contradicting answers....

Firstly i have a tracking number that states item (from china) is at HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC and has been for over 5 days, so :

1- Does it mean that i could receive the item and there will be no more tracking history now that its in the UK ?

2 - I have ordered many many items from China and the far east and this is the first time theres ever been a delay eg at HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC , why is that and not with any of the items ive previously ordered?

Just thought id ask as not have this happen before ever

1. Depends on the service used by the sender - similar to recorded won#'t be tracked. Registered items will be.

2. China is a bit hit and miss. Because of the volumes of mail from China not all of it gets checked unless the sniffers/scanners detect something out of the ordinary so in the majority of cases it will fly through. However, sometimes at the whim of the Customs people, whole batches can be selected for more thorough and individual checks, if yours is one of them it can take ages to get through.

PR China bans the sending of lithium batteries in the mail. This lead to a common scam in which people bought mobile phones off Chinese websites and the seller put a broken phone in the mail, safe in the knowledge that it would be confiscated by the postal authorities. The buyer found it hard to get a refund because the seller had a tracking number, and even if they did get their money back, the phone that was destroyed was not worth what the buyer had paid.

These items did not get put on the plane, so the tracking did not get as far as your item. I do not know that much about hover boards but I would be surprised if the batteries aren't lithium ones. My feeling is that you might have been a victim of the above type of scam but due to human error the item has been cleared to fly at the Chinese end. So, if the item is correctly packaged & labelled it will get to you eventually but when it does it may be a lemon. 10 days spent in customs is not that long at the moment, particularly for an item that is likely to attract customs charges, this does not necessarily have anything to do with the battery issue.

So how long do you think I should wait it arrived in the UK on the 31/01/16 and I was not told about any customs charges, the package weighs about 10kg. However I don't mind paying a bit more but I just really need the package.

I would apply for a refund now via the seller's website, if possible: 4 weeks is long enough. If you can't do that, call your credit card company and ask to make a chargeback.
