Delayed Missing incoming Mail from Thailand 100%

Post by elephants »

Hello,

We send many items from Thailand to UK (and worldwide) and have done for many years with no problems, nearly all are sent as small packet airmail and most usually arrive in around 7-10 days to UK with it being very rare for anything to get lost. Most of the packets we send contain low cost items so are not sent registered (no tracking).

Since the end of December we are having big problems with items sent to the UK, other countries seem to be arriving in the usual times. From January we sent 22 packages that have all not arrived, of these only 6 have a tracking number which shows the items leaving Thailand 2 days after we posted them but they do not show as arriving into the UK. We also have 6 packages from the very end of December.

We contacted Thailand Post who say all the packages have left Thailand, for the unregistered packages they can offer no help at all, for the registered packages we have to wait 25 day. The registered packages date back to 18 Jan but the unregistered go back to December and its these older unregisted ones that are very over due now and causing problems. We also contacted Royal Mail directly and they said there are no issues reported and the registered items we sent are not in the UK network yet, but we know other sellers here are having the same problems, it is not just us and seems to be UK only.

Any advice? Thanks

As with lots of other threads on this forum, the answer is that UK customs have a huge backlog. It has been a problem since August.
